Instructions for installation of ACT! 2007 Trial

1. Choose product version and language
2. Click on Download Now
3. Click on Save and download file to the Desktop
4. This will take 10-20 minutes depending on your connection
5. When the download is complete, click Close.
6. You must turn off any anti-virus software or firewalls.  To do so:
   1. Click Start, run and type msconfig  and press enter
   2. Click on the Services tab, and check the box that says Hide all Microsoft Services.
   3. Note which of the remaining ones are checked. You will only want to turn back on the ones that are on now.  Click on Disable All.
   4. Click on the Start up tab and Disable All.  Click Apply.
   5. When you close the box it will ask you to reboot.  Close all applications and restart.
7. Log back on and open the ActStrial.exe file on the desktop.
8. Let it expand to C:\ACT2007 and then close this box
9. Open My Computer and browse to local drive C: and open the ACT2007 folder
10. Double click on the Setup icon (computer).  This will start the ACT install program.
11. Follow the screens.  At the end of the installation, check the box to Launch ACT.
12. If you are prompted to allow ActSage.exe, answer Yes.
13. Click on No to check for updates (you have the latest version).   The wizard will ask you to configure MS Word and Outlook email.
14. To test ACT, click on Open Database and select act9demo.  This is a sample database. 
15. Close ACT.
16. Turn back on the Disabled services and start up programs, by clicking Start, run, msconfig.  Go to the Services tab and enable all.  Repeat for the Start up tab.  Reboot.
17. When the System Configuration utility box opens, click on the box in the bottom left corner so it will not prompt you again.  Cancel out of system configuration.
